Box Auto (Garage Parking Unit)

An enclosed garage, usually a private parking box or car garage. In urban real estate listings, box auto refers to a small garage unit (often in an underground parking structure or attached to an apartment building) sufficient for one car. It is typically cadastrally classified as C/6 (stables and garages). A box auto can be a pertinent part (pertinenza) of an apartment if it serves the apartment (and thus can benefit from the same tax treatment as the home). Owning a garage in city centers is valuable, and they can also be bought/sold or rented separately from a dwelling.
